In the fight against devastating disease and to close the health disparities gap in America, FBGRI was formed by concerned research scientists, attorneys, and interfaith leaders to combat the lack of participation by historically marginalized communities in clinical trials and population genetics. Our vision is a future where every individual has the knowledge and confidence to fully participate in medical advancements.

Overcoming the Legacy of Medical Exploitation and Betrayal
The Tuskegee Syphilis Study and the Henrietta Lacks case created enduring distrust within historically marginalized communities, making participation in medical research a significant barrier to health equity.
Addressing the Lack of Awareness About Clinical Trials
Logistical barriers such as transportation, time constraints, and cultural factors often prevent individuals from understanding the importance of clinical trials and participating in medical research.
